Go to check out multiple news outlets. What are you seeing splashed across the homepages regarding Obamacare? How has technology effected the roll out? How do the hidden agendas of each news outlet affect their coverage? What are your thoughts? Write a brief update of this topic and answer the questions from above!
Most of the things I found on the homepages were about the millions that are losing health insurance, and the technical problems the site is having. The technology effect on the website was huge but at the same time it is hard to predict what kinds of traffic a website will see, especially at launch. However I do believe that there could have been more preparation in terms of server space for the site. I think the hidden news agendas do affect their coverage because in the US we don't really have news anymore. I feel like all the national outlets do is pander to a demographic for ratings and feed the rumor mill.
ReplyDeleteFoxNews had some interesting things to say about the Obamacare website's technical difficulties. They say that the website in some states are failing to rate the different plans according to quality. This is a big issue because when picking a plan, you want to know which are the best ones and which are the worst ones. CNN also were bashing the Obamacare website, explaining that it has not lived up to the American peoples' expectations. I think that if a website is against something as big as Obamacare, they're going to do everything they can to sway their readers' way of seeing the issues.
ReplyDeleteThe things I am seeing most about Obama Care are negative things. I do not see much of the positive side of it just the things that are causing problems. Another common thing is people losing health insurance and how they feel about that. For technology the website has been crashing, some sites think this is because they dont want us to see how costly its plans are. I think they could have better prepared for this. Hidden agendas of each outlet are effected because we dont really have new anymore and this is something important.
ReplyDeleteMany outlets are are just speculating whether it will work or not. Many are worried because enrollment numbers have been rather low since it has started. Im sure technology has greatly helped the enrollment process. Many states are doing it online and in a cnn article they mentioned they have a hotline set up. Depending which news channel you watch or follow you may have somewhat of a different view because they are politically based. Fox news is more based for republicans while cnn and msnbc are generally more geared towards democrats. I am not an overall fan of obamacare just because that just means that the people that pay in on taxes are just paying more for the lower class and they will be more content with staying in the lower class because they also now have full medical insurance.
ReplyDeleteFrom what i have seen all the media sites are bashing obama care. they are saying that the website for obama care is continuously crashing which only gives them more to talk about. I also read that there is a hidden agenda for obama care that is to take over your body, mind an then your soul.
ReplyDeleteI think I've heard more controversy, and criticism about Obamacare than a lot of other things in politics. Although I don't know much about it. CNN's headlines for stories seem like they dont like it, for instance one was "White House Damage Control on Obamacare" it seems like there trying to make it sound like it cause damage in our government and that we need to recover from it.
ReplyDeleteThere have been surveys done and data analyzed about how this will effect the country, so I'm sure some kind of technology was used for that. And i know that will more advances in medicine procedures are costing more and more, so affording them will become harder to do. I don't think i have enough knowledge on the subject to have a good opinion of it, but I do know a lot of people disagree with it, just like anything else but I'm sure there are pros and cons with the obamacare.
This is ridiculous almost, meaning I have just finished several different articles and I didn't come away with learning anything about this Obamacare. When we talk about hidden agendas boy I have what Obama did or didn't know about secret spy planes on 9/11 and have the German Chancellor's phone tapped and this is a recent article of 2 hours ago. Then I read a article about how the medical system is the third leading cause of death in the US and Obama is for it!?!? I don't understand what these people get out of misleading the public and each other makes no sense they all work for greater in cause but only in a perfect word, in reality they work for their own good.
ReplyDeleteWhen looking at different news outlets I see a lot about Obamacare and how it is not doing very well. Some of the titles are "Obamacare is imploding" and "Obamacare backlash". Technology has made people more aware of what Obamacare is and how it is doing. We can follow it easier and be more aware of this new policy. The sites I looked at both had negative things to say about Obamacare and how it is not doing as well as they had planned. I don't think Obamacare will work especially after seeing all of this negative stuff about it on these websites.
ReplyDeleteMost of the research I've done shows negative aspects of Obamacare. I just went on the website myself and it seems rather easy to apply. However, Obamacare can be very beneficial for some people but not others like elderly. The media has a huge effect on how people view not only the care act but Obama himself. Obama is just the face for all of the government though. The media however own their time slot and are allowed to pretty much say whatever they please. Whether its facts or opinions so it's hard for me to trust the news sometimes. As I researched most news pages are just talking about the website itself right now. I feel as if obamacare can be beneficial for some and not others. Im not to biasist on the situation.
ReplyDeletethe news outlets are criticizing Obama care , as they say people are losing health insurance. the website is also crashing a lot which gives people something to talk about. Technology also makes it easier for everybody to understand what's going on and give their opinion's.
