  1. I think that this is a very creative way to get people doing a little exercise, yes it is not a lot but it makes fitness kind of fun. I feel if you are having fun or get some kind of reward people are more likely to work out. For example the Wii is one of the best examples. You can have fun while exercising wether it is with the family, doing yoga, or dancing to your favorite song. Kinict is also a great way to exercise. I have played the dancing game and I am definitely feeling it after a while, but I am having fun that I don't notice.

    1. I agree! One of the biggest and best ways to get people moving/exercising is to make it fun and enjoyable! Before you know if you're sweating and still sore the next day :)

  2. I think its a great way to get people to be more active. If I had the choice between doing a short physical activity or paying a few dollars to ride transit I would pick the exercise every time. I think with being able to record your workout data and you actually seeing facts of your heart rate and calories burned and what not promotes fitness. I recently got an app on my phone that's called mapmyrun and as your listening to your music every mile it will tell you what your split time is along with calories burned and average speed. It also saves all of your previous workouts so you can track your improvement.

An idea that incorporates technology into fitness that I find very cool is the new Oakley airwave goggles. They have a display on the lens that keeps you updated with all information possible such as speed temp and practically anything you can think of that would be beneficial for on the mountain. http://www.oakley.com/products/7283/28220

  3. I think its a great idea to get people going and maybe do the first exercise they have in a while. I think it would get people in the habit of doing something proactive and beneficial for themselves.
Wii Fit if used correctly is supposed to give you a good workout based on what body type you enter. I think this is also a good way of getting people started and maybe make them realize they are out of shape and need something to do about it, although I do think eventually you should get outside and run or go to the gym.
Even though these good ideas are out there, the people who need the exercise need it for a reason and I'm not sure if since they haven't in the past a video game isnt going to interests them enough to do the workouts

  4. I loved this! I think it was such a neat and unique way to get people to move. It looked like some of those people didn't do squats much and its cool how the ticket motivated them. Or the cost difference.

  5. Other ways to promote fun activity is gadgets such as the Nike Fuel Band. I like how on the apps it counts your steps and calories burned also you're heart rate.

  6. I feel this an excellent idea as who's really gone turn down a free train ticket. It's very innovate idea and could only help people. It is all reward no risk type of a idea.

  7. I feel this is a cool innovative way to get people to some what earn their ticket. Exercising is not really all that fun and its hard to want to do many workouts. This is a fun twist to get people to move a little. One thing that comes to mind is the Wii or the Kinect systems that are designed to allow people to play video games but work out at the same time

  8. I think that this ticket system is a unique idea, but at the same time I feel like it is discriminatory in a way. Yes it will keep people in shape, but what if someone isn't able to do the squats the machine requires. Why should they have to pay because they are missing a leg or have a physical disability when someone else gets to ride for free because they can do 30 squats?
