DeleteWithout the update in technology softball and baseball bats would not be where they are today. Most teams would be using a typical wooden bat or a simple aluminum bat. With todays technology bat producers are able to make every bat a little different. Now they add things like graphite fibers to gives us the ability to add more layers of strength while reducing the overall thickness of the barrels wall. They have added composite handles to give bats the lightest swing. Bats even have inner disc to the middle of the barrel, this makes a larger "sweet spot" so to say, and a more clean pop. With out some of the updates with technology hitters hands would be vibrating in pain after hitting against some of the speeds pitchers throw. The pop would not be as good as we see today. Baseball is one of Americas sports and society would be a little different without the hitting we see today.

It is unbelievable how fast phones and technology is moving and how much space has been traveled from the bricks people used to hold to their faces. In sixth grade the razor was the cool phone to have. Anything that had a touch screen was unheard of. Now if you don't have cameras to watch your eyes so they can pause your video for you, your behind in the game. All these new inventions are exciting though and it will be interesting how advanced we can get with phones.
Although having the security of a fingerprint to access your phone would be nice I would be a little worried about who had the ability to record those prints. I don't think it would bother me enough to take the phone back, but I don't think I would use that particular lock for my phone
I'm just waiting for the day when I can get an iPhone like everybody else. In the mean time Ill just watch and wait for an update in like a year.
With more and more technology coming into our hand we are weaker as ever and in risk of being "violated".
ReplyDeleteIs the rise of more and new technology putting us all in danger of "getting hacked"? The most popular answer to that questions is a yes and in which i agree. Not only can your computer, cell phones or any other home device you may have, but you car/vehicle can be hacked now as well. With as much as hackers can do you and your family are in danger. for example, there was a case where a hacker had hacked through a family baby monitor: a couple recently heard a hacker's voice coming from their two year-old's room, calling her by name and telling her to wake up. Would that scare as a parent?

I have chosen the topic of social networking. I believe that social networking has greatly changed our society. Everyone has a constant feeling of need to be attached to their device of choice to be checking on social networking sites such as twitter and facebook. Less than a month ago twitter released a string of updates for their website. Making it easier to communicate to one another in conversations and also making it easy to file complaints. With the popularity of social networking one study shows that it is making a drastic change in the way someone is peer pressured into doing something. Instead of the old typical way of say a group of "cool" kids trying to get a younger or less popular kid to drink or smoke. It is now a trend for that kid to see this happening on his facebook timeline or twitter feed and feel the need to do the same thing to fit in. Over the last few weeks the news has been dominated by social networking. Twitter with its new layout that it released and google with its announcement that it is trying to start its own social media site. I think that everyone is starting to get too carried away with social networking. There are many people that are constantly checking their twitter, facebook, instagram whatever it may be but check in continuously throughout the day and are too attached to these things and adding another into the mix will only make it worse.

My hot topic is about the advantages of having a smartphone. I chose this topic because you don't always come across an article saying why these mobile phones are good and why we should have them.

Facebook is the best social newtork in the world and smartphones allow us to do anything just about at any point. The success of the to has to do with it's advances in technology. Start with the smartphone for a while iphones seemed as the only smartphone to have , if you wanted your phone to be better than everybody else. Now we all company are making stong smartphones which some come are better than the iphone , for example the galaxy 2 had a 1.2 microprosser significantly more than the iphone 4s.You also have HTC One X which experts see as the most technological advance phone with a 1.4 microprosser. Facebook is also advanced technology as a worldwide network already , they will began to know work with advertisers from all over the country. it will work with telecom the 3rd biggest digital brand in the world and spread to 25 countries.

I read about a new way to get alternative energy. The way they get the energy is not new but the placement is. The British are now using off shore wind turbines to produce enough energy to power up to 500,000 homes. In the past twenty years the British have completed 20 different wind projects. The U.S. has yet to break the seal in this new field of off shore wind. The downfall with these big wind projects are they are costly and do not produce as much energy as coal and natural gas. Although they may not produce as much energy, they are better for the environment. The U.S. plans to start an off shore wind project in the future but are still raising funds. The goal is to have a wind project set up on the east coast but won't be until the year 2020.
